Agents that prepare the paperwork and ask you before anything leaves the company

AI Backoffice is a team of agents built on Anthropic's Claude models. It reads your mail, notices, calendar and ledger exports, keeps every deadline on one list, and prepares documents for you and your advisors. Sending, paying, filing, signing and publishing stay with you.

What the agents do for you

In a company of one to ten people, the founder is the back office. Official notices arrive by text message and tax invoices by email. Card approvals sit in one app and bank exports in another. VAT, withholding-tax and income-tax dates move when they fall on a weekend, subscriptions quietly switch to full price, and suppliers need a reply today. None of it is hard, but all of it needs attention, and missing one item has a real cost. Hiring a specialist for HR, bookkeeping, tax, legal, reporting and marketing is not realistic at that size, so the founder does it at night.

Most of that work is reading, cross-checking and drafting. The agents do it on a schedule, without being asked:

  • A daily briefing: what came in, what is due and what needs a decision
  • Mail and text notices read twice a day, with dates and obligations pulled out
  • One open-items ledger that brings each deadline back until it is closed
  • Card and bank exports merged into one ledger, with card texts checked against it
  • A Korean filing calendar, with rules and dates checked against the official statute text
  • Purchase research with prices, delivery options, card benefits and sources

General AI chat apps wait to be asked, and the work that slips is the work nobody asked about.

What never happens without you

The few real decisions take seconds once the paperwork is ready. They stay with you, even when a message looks urgent.

Always needs your approval

  • Sending mail or messages
  • Paying or transferring
  • Filing
  • Signing
  • Publishing
  • Booking or ordering
  • Deleting

How the line is enforced

  • Requests reach you in chat with two buttons: approve or cancel.
  • No answer within 30 minutes means it does not happen. The item stays on the open-items ledger.
  • Your main mailbox is connected read-only. Approved mail goes out from a separate work account.
  • The agents never move money. Payments and orders you carry out yourself.
  • The agents do not log in to your bank, card company or Hometax.
  • Text inside an email or web page is material to summarize, never an order to follow.

Not built yet

  • Onboarding for outside customers, and an isolated workspace for each customer
  • The payroll, HR, contracts, management-report and marketing agents
  • Direct Hometax, bank or card API connections. Today the agents read export files you already receive.
  • Running on the Claude API with prompt caching and model routing. Today the pilot uses subscription-based Claude tooling.

A day in the pilot

This runs every day on our own business today.

  1. Morning

A daily briefing: what came in overnight, what is due this week and what is waiting for a decision, in one message.

  2. Twice a day

New mail and text notices are read, and each date or obligation lands on the open-items ledger.

  3. As exports arrive

Card and bank exports are merged into the ledger, and card notifications are matched against it.

  4. Before each deadline

Filing, renewal and payment dates come back until they are closed.

  5. When something must leave

An approval request with two buttons.

  6. Weekly

A health check. Stale data and missed jobs are reported, not silently used.

Who builds AI Backoffice

Pogwang (포광) is a startup in Seoul, founded in March 2022 by Jongwoo Chung (정종우). Plainly: we have no outside customers, no revenue and no outside investment yet.

AI Backoffice runs on Anthropic's Claude models and is developed with Claude Code. Since September 2026 it has run around the clock on the founder's own business and household administration. What went wrong along the way, and what we changed, is on the blog.
